Il Gruppo di Studio della Scoliosi e delle patologie vertebrali (GSS) è un'associazione scientifica no profit. Riunisce gli operatori che promuovono lo studio e l'aggiornamento sulla scoliosi e sulle patologie vertebrali, con un approccio multidisciplinare e un prevalente interesse alla clinica, alla riabilitazione, alla prevenzione e all'educazione. Il GSS si rivolge a diverse tipologie di figure professionali, in quanto approfondisce i temi connessi all'intero processo diagnostico, terapeutico, riabilitativo, preventivo ed educativo del paziente affetto da patologie vertebrali.

The method of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) was developed at the Kabat-Kaiser Institute over a period of 5 years, 1946-1951, by Herman Kabat, MD, who was also a clinical neurophysiologist, and the Physical Therapist, Margaret "Maggie" Knott. Mr. Kaiser, whos son had Multiple Sclerosis, provided the financial backing for the Institute, at first in Washington, D.C., and later in Vallejo, California. Originally the method was developed for patients with neurological deficits, especially Poliomyelitis. Later it developed into a method to be used for musculoskeletal as well as neurological deficits.
